ABOUT
Lucy Prebble's play, The Effect, explores the nature of love and identity through the story of two volunteers, Connie and Tristan, in a clinical drug trial for a new antidepressant. Their growing romance challenges the boundaries between drug-induced infatuation and genuine emotion, raising ethical questions for the overseeing doctors, Lorna and Toby, who also grapple with their past relationship and personal struggles with depression and mental health
